How the Victoria Electric Vehicle Rebate Works
The VicRoads registration system applies the concessional stamp duty rate automatically. No separate application is needed. The saving increases with vehicle price.

Ongoing Incentives & Benefits
Victoria's $100 annual registration discount for ZEVs is ongoing. The controversial ZEV road user charge (2.5 c/km for BEVs, 2.0 c/km for PHEVs) was struck down by the High Court in 2023 and no longer applies.
Former Victoria Electric Vehicle Incentives
The $3,000 Victorian EV rebate (capped at vehicles under $68,740) ran from May 2021 and concluded in late 2023 after the full allocation was claimed.
