How the New South Wales Electric Vehicle Rebate Works
The stamp duty exemption is automatically applied at point of registration โ no separate application required. For a $60,000 BEV, this saves approximately $2,200 in stamp duty that would otherwise apply.

The NSW $3,000 EV purchase rebate (2021โ2023, for vehicles under $68,750) has concluded. NSW road user charge for EVs (2.5 c/km) was ruled unconstitutional by the High Court in 2023 and does not apply.
